ABOUT OUR STORY

My love for old and vintage pieces started when I lived in a cottage in Stellenbosch, with very little money I had to furnish the space. I would shop around in second hand and hospice shops to find unique and pretty pieces. I met Amanda Craddock, who at that time was the owner of "Fancy That" in Durbanville and I was hooked. I knew then that I wanted a unique shop, a place for all the "Poppe of Durbanville " to shop and find beautiful pieces, they could call their own.

Since then, the love grew, life went on and at the age of 30 with very little money and the help from my mom I had the opportunity to open my first "Shoppi".

At that time it was a part time venture as I had a "real " job..... fast forward life threw many curveballs and 2 shops later, some broken hearts in between & I now find myself in the most amazing space and grateful to have the opportunity to live my dream whilst being a mom, step-mommy and partner .

I do have a big love for DECOR and a good eye, I was blessed with great genes, both my parents are very artistic. I do believe one should see the beauty in every imperfection, in life you have to make your own rules ,especially when it comes to decor.

Mark Boddy, my partner, plays a very important role in this big passion of mine. He keeps me on my toes & has the amazing ability to push me to new heights. With his help, he has transformed the shed, which we have dubbed “The Poppi Shed” into a comfortable & amazing work space, filled with hopes & dreams. I am, and will forever be grateful for him and his belief in me.

OUR TEAM

Poppi consists of a small amazing team. Firstly my partner Mark Boddy, who willingly stands by my side in all that we do here at Poppi. Jacky, my right hand lady, Mannetjies Mutton does most of the spray work and Willie Roos is the best carpenter and always sees the potential in all my projects and unfurnished items. We are blessed with each one of them & their amazing skills & talents.
